Commitment to the timber trade

Initiatives and cooperations for sustainable timber construction.

Forest & Wood 4.0 initiative of the Bern University of Applied Sciences - BFH Centre for Wood

  • The combination of transitions towards data-driven business models, improved customer experiences, streamlined business processes and more flexible working models are challenges that the Bern University of Applied Sciences is addressing with the Forest & Wood 4.0 initiative - BFH Centre for Wood- Resource and Material.

Forest & Wood 4.0 is working jointly with all players in the timber value network, from the end customer back through all processing stages. The industry associations support the activities. Dietrich's is deeply involved in the Swiss Forest & Wood 4.0 initiative.

BERTIM: Energy-efficient refurbishment with prefabricated timber construction modules

  • BERTIM (Building Energy Renovation Through Timber Prefabricated Modules) is a European project for the energy-efficient renovation of buildings with prefabricated elements made of sustainable materials. With a customised timber construction shell in timber frame construction or cross-laminated timber, buildings in need of renovation become energy-efficient properties. Here the entire process, from planning to production, is realised using BIM.

Dietrich's is the exclusive software partner and consultant for the BERTIM.eu project, thanks to our decades of experience in timber construction and the elementisation of building components.

Dietrich's special program for journeyman carpenters

  • A support program for all travelling journeyman carpenters was developed in close cooperation with CCEG!

When it comes to timber construction, Dietrich's is the first port of call throughout Europe. Our core strength is professional 3D CAD/CAM software, providing perfect plans, material lists and control of production systems, spanning from architecture and design to production and assembly. Successful master carpenters, timber builders, construction technicians and engineers in both modern and traditional timber construction rely on the experience of Dietrich's specialists and the performance of Dietrich's software.

As a travelling journeyman, you can now participate in this success. Our complete timber construction software is free to anyone who can prove that they are a travelling journeyman.

    Advantages for travelling journeymen carpenters:

You can take part in our customer training courses throughout your time as a travelling journeyman. You will receive extensive training in mathematical jointing and timber construction by computer.

You are authorised to install and use our programs in your patron's company with their consent. This means you can demonstrate and deepen your skills in work preparation. You no longer have to work on the construction site regardless of the weather. When you leave the company, take the license dongle and the manual with you. So easy!
